Contact Conference Staff

University students are encouraged to attend the Conference and will find their participation valuable to their career development. In addition to the technical information gained by attending presentations and visiting exhibits, students will be able to meet and talk with environmental professionals representing a wide range of work experience and employers. The student registration rate is approximately half the standard rate and provides full access to all technical sessions, exhibits, and meals. Additional offerings for students are the Student Networking Lunch and a Career Center, which will provide an area for students and prospective employers to post information, and space will be available to conduct interviews.

Student Paper Competition. Papers were due November 30. A committee of remediation experts reviewed papers for originality of the research, thoroughness of the technical approach, validity of the data interpretation, readability, and relevance to the scope of the Conference, and all entrants will be notified of the results by January 31. Winners will be recognized during the Plenary Session and will receive complimentary registrations, commemorative plaques, and, through the generosity of corporate sponsors, cash awards to help cover travel and related costs. Each winner will give a presentation at the Conference.

Student Networking Lunch. On Tuesday, during the general lunch break for Conference participants, one dining room will be reserved for students and specially selected mentors. This will provide an opportunity for students to talk with environmental professionals from a variety of public- and private-sector organizations about career directions and to meet fellow students. Additional information will be provided by e-mail a few weeks before the Conference to everyone registered at student rates.

Career Center. An area will be provided for students and prospective employers to post employment available/employment wanted information, and space will be available to conduct interviews.
