Fredericksburg, VA—The Virginia Commonwealth Governor’s School is the recipient of a $20,000 donation from Battelle.  The Commonwealth Governor’s School is the first real-time, interactive, long-distance learning governor’s school in Virginia.

All five Commonwealth Governor’s School sites serve students in grades nine through twelve with a rigorous curriculum in the four core academic subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.  The goal of the school is to use technology to create a regional community of learners and further the math and science education of students in Virginia.

The funds will supply the Commonwealth Governor’s School with equipment and materials to promote the advancement of learning in the classroom and help pave the way for a more interactive environment and more educational resources in the lab.
