At Battelle, we believe that to solve a problem or make a significant improvement to an existing condition, one must take a comprehensive approach. It follows then, to have a significant impact on education, we must involve ourselves in every aspect of education - including policy.
In May 2006, Battelle announced a gift of $4 million to launch the Battelle Center for Mathematics and Science Education Policy to be housed at Ohio State’s John Glenn School of Public Affairs.
The Center’s goal is to bring people in higher education together with leaders in K-12 education, business, technology and government to deliberate and develop policies and practices that will increase the number of students who have been schooled using the most innovative methods and prepared to be leaders in STEM fields.
The Center is aligned with Battelle’s other education initiatives - Battelle for Kids, The Metro School and the Ohio STEM Learning Network - to improve the pipeline of talented scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians for the future competitiveness of our region and our nation.
